Why Use Diamonds in Your Jewelry

Diamonds are well known in the industry for their value. Diamonds are considered symbols of romance and eternal love. It’s no wonder that they’re the most popular gem for engagement rings

Besides engagement rings, diamonds have become a symbol of something much more important. It’s the combination of durability and simplicity that makes diamonds a symbol of social and economic status.

As a result, diamonds have become one of the most sought after gems in the world, but they’re not so easy to find. The slow forming process reflects on the price of these precious stones. It takes 1 to 3 billion years for a diamond to form in the mantle of the earth.

Even with all this information, you might still wonder why exactly are diamonds so popularly used in jewelry making? Most importantly, why should you consider making them a part of your collection?

Beauty

Diamonds are considered one of the most beautiful gemstones in the world. Their beauty is measured mostly in their clarity. Not only is the gem itself very rare, but the number of skilled artisans who can handle it properly is also very narrow.

The large majority of diamonds found around the world are not considered to be gem quality. Only about one-fifth of the mined diamonds are considered to be gem quality. Diamonds don’t appear clear from the start either. They come in different colors, one of the rarest ones being the red colored diamonds.

In the hands of the right master, diamonds transform into gems that command huge prices. In the right hands, they become highly prized by collectors.

Symbolism

Diamonds have a great cultural and symbolic significance all around the world. There’s no other gem that is as well known as diamonds, but why is that the case?

People have managed to create certain associations connected with diamonds. As we mentioned earlier, diamonds are considered to be a certain symbol of love. Companies that produce jewelry specifically targeted at weddings and engagements absolutely must include the gem in their collections.

The companies that have a luxury status attached to them should also consider using diamonds in their collections as a symbol of social and economic standing. People who shop at luxury brands care about those details.

While diamonds are perfect for jewelry it’s not always easy to come up with jewelry designs that will compliment the stone. That’s why at Sarkissian Jewelry Studio, we have a dedicated talented team of designers that will help your company create eye-catching jewelry designs.
